Which of these statements comes closest to describing your feelings about the Bible? - The Bible is the actual word of God and is to be taken literally, word for word.
- The Bible is the word of God but not everything in it should be taken literally, word for word
- The Bible is a book written by men and is not the word of God.

And its not up for argument ... my Bible is alive and real.

Yes Drok....but MUST be rightly divided, too many people take scriptures OUT OF CONTEXT and wreck havok in the lives of people. For example women are often placed in bondage because of misinterpreting certain scriptures, just like Romans 13 was used to justify slavery, this is why clergy MUST GO to School and be properly trained before they lead people!

Is the Bible taken out of context or does it simply mean one thing to one person and something totally different to the next? There are difficult passages and even passages that appear to contradict each other.
My personal opinion is that different people get different meanings from the Bible. The Bible is the word of God but not everything in it should be taken literally, word for word. I think it’s impossible to take it word for word.

As a pastor in my church put it...if the bible is not the word of God, but only CONTAINS the word of God, then WHICH part is God and which part isn't? And who desides that? So what happens is that, if we don't like or agree with a part of the word, then that gives us the excuse to throw that part of it out.

Men wrote the Bible, who were SUPPOSE to be inspired by GOD.... according to the Nicean council and Constantine. To think as GREAT as God is....to only express His Love through a few good men( only two being out of the twelve disciples) in one book that has been translated and translated and translated....WOW. A Living God....who was here Before the Bible came into existence. People don't give the devil any credit.
