It must be, cause something is keeping him on there in addition to my mom. I hope the girls bring it on too!

Yeah, I want Tivo too! But anyhoo the lines have been drawn between the who's got it and who ain't! Jordin broke out first with a Pat Benatar song it was total rock. She sang it good and it showed her flexibility and range. Sabrina came out and sang an Envogue tune "Don't let go" she sang it well but she didn't sing it from the heart, you couldn't feel it from her. To tell you the truth I don't remember what Antonella or Haley sang they just weren't memorable they have their styles but are not again in the other girls league. Even Simon made mention that Antonella just can't sing any better. Stephanie, Stephanie, Stephanie! She sang "Sweet Thing" If only she could stop sounding like Beyonce singing whenever she sings. Stephanie must come into her own! She has good range and she gets a little pitchy but she has to come into her own. The white girl that sang an Evanescence song came out rockin' much better than she has. She finally established herself. Cool for her though. Lakisha dressed much better this week with a black satin number and diamond necklace and diamond encrusted strappy shoes, she went Whitney Houston with "If I don't have you" she sang it with a booming voice and believability that had everyone continue to see that she's got what it takes, her professionalism and pitch was very good. Now... for my girl... Melinda She sang "I'm a woman" the way that song is supposed to be sung with a rawness and agility that she could muster, she was flawless her wardrobe superb. I liked when she walked over toward the background singers and harmonized with them it was awesome. The girl is FANTASTIC! In my opinion I think she's a little better than LaKisha, she is more polished and I know LaKisha is the favorite. But watch out there Kisha...

I flipped back and forth so I didn't catch all of it. I didn't like Jordan's rock song until the very end. I actually agreed with Simone on that one.
Poor little Antonella. If I were her I would have left LONG ago. She can't sing and there is no chance in hell she is going to make it to the end. She better go find a job working at Starbucks or The Gap.
I just love Malinda. I hope that she makes it to the finals, but even if she doesn't she is going to be a star.

Dang! Sabrina, I am just floored... Antonella (Yay!) Bro man Jared he can actually sing but not enough to stand out from the rest and amazingly enough Sundance and guess who is STILL hanging in there... I told my mom that it was her fault Sanjaya was still there, she just thinks he has this cute appeal. I'm like mom he is NOT TALENTED enough. She says, it's okay he can get lessons... HE SHOULD HAVE ALREADY HAD LESSONS! This is a freaking SINGING COMPETITION for godsakes! He is unfortunately another enigma that AI has produced. I'm just sick... 2 black 2 white and there goes the bell. Shoot, Melinda should be in the top 12, I voted probably about 30 times or more. I threw in a few votes for Lakisha.

Sweetpie, your mom and I need to talk. I was so mad that Sanjaya survived. I'm very surprised that Sundace got voted off. But with the ladies, most of them have been doing well so that could have gone either way. But that goodness that train wreck Antonella got the boot. And then she had te nerve to look mad that she didn't make it...please. That girl KNOW that she can't sing.

Sweetpie, I wasn't impressed with the performances tonight, what about you?
You know who I liked, the white boy who sung "You Keep Me Hanging On". I liked his rendition. But it certainly didn't go over well with the judges.

First night of the 12 girls and boys singing on the same night. A different atmosphere bigger band, bigger stage and to top it off it was Diana Ross night! Everyone had a bigger sound more grander style, but of course either they brought their game or they didn't .
First one was the brotha Brandon and he came out... dang! Okie Doke AGAIN! I think this is the crest for him. I don't really think he can go better. I went back and listened to his performance again and Hooboy! His voice squeeked a couple of times and YES he did the no, no he forgot lyrics! Next was my girl Melinda she sang "Home" I get goose bumps when that chick sings! She brought it big and of course the judges agreed. Chris S. sang "Endless love" with a different arrangement (ColdPlay) the judges murdered him for doing so. I personally thought it was kinda cool. Gina the rock chick sang "Love Child" I wasn't convinced that she started school in a worn torn dress that somebody threw out." Didn't do much for me, she sang it as well as SHE could.
Sanjaya had the hair thing going... that was about it he sang "Ain't no Mountain High Enough" Simon said he was brave to say the least. I do think it was his best performance. He attempted to go big but crested only so much and he stayed on key! Haley was okay they thought she came up a bit Simon actually paid her a compliment and she did mix the lyrics up she sang "Missing you."
Phil the bald dude with the big eyes was considered best male vocal for the evening, he sang I'm gonna make you love me" Next came Lakisha who sang "God Bless the child" she had on a white floor length dress she took on that stage like she owned it! She was very professional and had good vocals she didn't over sing it . Blake in my opinion had an innovative arrangement with "You just keep me hangin on" vocals were okay they kind of chopped him up though because he flipped the script.
Beyonce... I mean Stephanie sang "Love Hangover" she has presence she can sing but I cannot shake the feeling of Beyonce when she sings. She just sang the first part of the song and it didn't go in to the disco(ie) part which made everyone wonder when she was gonna break down. Simon cracked by saying that Diana had many songs why did she pick that one and why wasn't the arrangement done so that it would include the upbeat part. I agreed with them. Chris R. was next he sang a little ditty called "The Boss" I didn't really know the song but he worked the crowd but also he puts me in the mind of Justin Timberlake. It wasn't one of his better performances. The last one Jordin the 17 yo with a big voice singing "We can hold on together" good vocal but the one thing wrong... she has got NO soul she sounded straight up white girl this evening I could not feel what she was singing. Simon said she put herself into the league with Melinda and Lakisha but I beg to differ. She got to come out of the box to make it in the ring with Mel and Kisha. Oh well, we will wait with bated breath to see who is getting kicked off tomorrow. I think it may be the end of the road for Sanjaya/Brandon and either Haley or Gina or Stephanie.
Whew!

Well, were we surprised? Not exactly Brandon, Phil and Sanjaya were in the bottom three. I forgot they are only bootin' off one person at a time now. Sanjaya has changed his status and has become the official anomaly. But I knew Brandon was leaving he did just absolutely horrible last night. Phil should not have been in the bottom 3 . I listened to Sligh again he was a little pitchy, I didn't notice before. But again Stephanie she has got a ways before she gets the boot but I would advise her like Paula did, she needs to strive for better. I think I will e-mail her and give her some advice. Cuz you know I am the perfect critic.

Brandon didn't do so well but he can sing better than Sanjaya. I am not going to be happy until his little non-singing behind is gone.
I heard this morning that there is an under ground movement to keep him on the show. I can't wait to hear more about that.

I need to invest in TiVo. If you got cable and a VCR, you can program your VCR to record ANTM and watch American Idol at the same time....or vice versa.

Yeah, I agree Brandon had been singing better I think he got a case of stage fright. But his ultimate problem was that he could not distinguish himself from the others. The other guys sort of bring it but they are not actually as good singers as Brandon is to tell you the truth . I gotta check on that underground movement.
