I saw an interesting subject about this elsewhere. Some women were quoting a book (which I've read) regarding this and some other things.
This particular book was encouraging men to understand that women should not be "expected" to know how to cook, or clean house, and this comment was justified by the reasoning that many women don't know how!
The women responding LOVED that!
Ladies, a question...
If a man said to you that he didn't know HOW to take out the trash, cut the grass, do minor repairs around, lift & move things, etc., and since he didn't know how, that he should therefore not be "expected" to do these things, how would you respond to that?
WHY is it that when it comes things around the house that a man's role is clearly defined, but yours is subject to skill level, education, motivation and/or interpretation??
We men thought that it was quite simple. We thought that you either do it, or you don't, and if you DON'T know, that it's your JOB to learn!
And who needs lessons on cleaning house?? Who is this a new frontier for?

I think this concept goes both ways. I won't assume that a man knows how to fix everything that is broken and a man shouldn't assume that I know how to cook like his momma.
Duties and chores should be done by BOTH collectively, not exclusively.

Rock, I wouldn't let you lift a finger around the house. I'd treat you like the King that you are.
