If you and your spouse had two cars, one much nicer than the other, who do you think should drive the newer vehicle? Would it make any difference if only one of you worked?

It's been my experience, that no matter how hard a man, trys to keep the nicer or newer car. The women always gets what she wants, in the end. My mom did it. My sisters did it. my friends wifes did it.And it dosen't matter, if she dosen't work!!.

It was kind of the opposite for my parents, dolphin. When my dad got his truck, he taught my mama how to drive a stick, but he drove it most of the time while she was stuck with the Subaru (which he bought too).
Personally, her ride is her ride and my ride is my ride, period. No switching.
If my ride is nicer, she's still driving hers. I'll help her clean it up and do maintenance on it, but she ultimately has to learn to take care of it.
If her ride looks better than mine, guess what? I'm still driving my ride.

I drive the family vehicle (the bigger one), he drives the older one but when it is time to buy again he will drive the newer one. It is about taking turns. We will swap back and forth if need be we buy them together. I cannot say "my truck" because "we" got it and he has the right drive it also and it would be the same with a newer vehicle he drives. He takes care of both. I clean the one that I drive and he checks the fluids and such and makes sure both vehicles get serviced. We just take turns, to me what either of us gets is "ours." If I got it he's got it.

As far as your mom and dad goes, it is , what it is. BUTTT, I would love to be the fly on that wall when you tell her, what you just said. NOW, I BELIEVE YOU!!!!. I just don't believe, it would stay, the way you mention, especially, when your talking new cars.

I said what I said because women are like this: If your ride is better than hers, she's gonna want to drive your ride all the time til' she f-cks it up. If her ride is better than yours...there's no way she's gonna let you drive it. She's gonna roll her head and lecture you on it. So since they wanna play hardball, I can too.

Did the "our" vehicles thing with the ex. Next time around, I'll have my car, she'll have hers. Just works better that way.
She can check her own fluids. I'm no mechanic, and women need to learn basic, simple stuff like checking their oil, radiator, tires and such. Only takes a second, and what if I'm not there?
We go out together, I'LL drive.

My wife ALWAYS drives the newer car, I do that because of safety, If she breaks down it is more drama involved.

Sorry, but it is what it is. That is the way we play it. I don't care as long as it runs and I got a radio. Looks come second to a car that runs.

I'm not gonna lie. I would want the nicer car too. ;D
UNLESS my husband's commute was father than mine and he needed a more reliable vehicle...but I guess in that case, I would have to trade my car in. I don't drive a hoopty now, and I won't drive one if I ever get married.
