Getting rid of acidity in the body is not quick-fix
approach.
It's a serious commitment that you need to take in
order to start feeling changes in your health.
How does your body become so acidic you may ask?
Instead of giving you an answer let me give you a
simple example that many people can relate to.
We get up in the morning, gulp down a large cup of
coffee and a donut, or perhaps, microwave one of those
prepackaged egg and sausage biscuits.
We expect that to hold us until lunch and we are
super sized when at midday we are craving a snack and
feeling low on energy. At that time we get another cup
of coffee, (or maybe in an effort to cut back on coffee
we've switched to diet cola) reach for a sugar loaded
goody and feel revived for a short time. Fortunately,
lunch is only an hour and half away.
At lunch time you have multiple errands to run and you
decide while you're out to do the drive-through at King
MacBurger and get lunch on the run. So as you are
choosing what you would like to eat you realize you
are very hungry (again) and order the super maxed out
size burger, fried and soda. Besides, it really is a
better deal financially.
You run your errands but you return back to work.
Around 2 pm you are starting to sink and feel the need
for a pick me up so you head to the candy machine where
you buy a chocolate bar and another diet soda.
After work you are tired, stresses, irritable and
looking for beer or glass of wine. When you arrive home
you know that the kids will need dinner, help with
their homework and you need to do a load of laundry
before tomorrow.
Fortunately, your wonderful husband has brought home
take-out Chinese. You power eat your way through fried
egg rolls and rice.
Does that sound like your regular eating habit? Maybe
you are a better maybe you are worse but just stop and
think about what you put into your body day after day.
If the example above sounds anything like your life you
need to pay close attention to the next section...
Ok, here it is...
You see you really don't need to eat bad foods. You
need to start changing your eating habits gradually
from really acidic food, like coffee, chocolate, soda,
fried foods, etc to more alkaline foods like
vegetables, fresh juices, green drinks, essential fatty
acids, natural products, sea vegetables, and grains.
Let's see how your eating habits could have been
different.
Let's substitute that processed, frozen, egg sausage
sandwich in the morning for a whole grain cereal with
nuts. Add a glass of fresh juice and a cup of green tea
instead of coffee and VOILA! You're off to a great
breakfast.
Midmorning you start to crash, so instead of heading
for a diet soda and some left over sugar donut how
about storing a package of sunflower seeds or raw
almonds and having them with a large glass (or bottle
if you prefer) of water. That should hold off hunger
until noon.
Now if you absolutely must go out an run yourself
ragged over the lunch hour fine. If your just starting
and you MUST stop at King MacBurger... GET A SALAD! And
ask then to put the dressing on the side. That way you
have the option of using it or not.
Now mid-afternoon is a tough place for most folks.
Everyone is thinking about getting home, they're tired
and the energy is about gone. So of course you want
something that will give you a boost until dinner. How
about fruit, nuts, and water?
You should be drinking at least 8 large glasses of
water a day. Don't worry, your body will get use to it
and you will stop running to the bathroom. The protein
in the nuts will make you feel full and the fruit will
provide you with energy.
That was really a wonderful husband to bring home
dinner. So if you end up eating a little bad stuff just
lay off the fried and eat more soup and vegetables.
Just don't overeat because it will interrupt your
sleep.
Like I said changes come slowly. Don't expect to have a
perfect make over on day one. Just remember, the better
you feed your body, the better your daily life will be
and better your sleep will be.
Prior to going to bed, have some herbal tea. Chamomile
should help you relax and drift to sleep.
After a day of eating this way you should feel much
better because you didn't eat all that junk during the
day.
I urge you to give this a try. I think you'll like it.
Don't be too hard on yourself and persist.
