What the hell is wrong with people these days? Man charged with beating girlfriend's infant because he "reminded the suspect of the child's father"An 18-year-old Suffolk man has been arrested and chrged with felony child abuse and aggravated malicious wounding after police determined he had beaten the 4-week-old child of his girlfriend. Investigators were called to Sentara Obici Hospital on Tuesday after personnel there reported the injuries to the child, who had been brought in for treatment by his father. The child was suffering from facial and head injuries. An investigation revealed that the mother's boyfriend, Breon Lashawn Perry, had been caring for the infant and his 3-year-old sister. Police said that Perry struck the baby several times in the face and head because "the child reminded the suspect of the child's father, whom the suspect did not like". The child suffered blunt force trauma to the head and was suffering from some brain injury. He was transferred Tuesday night to Children's Hospital of the Kings Daughters, where he is in stable condition. Perry is currently being at Western Tidewater Regional Jail with no bond. He has a scheduled court date of May 1, 2007.

You have young folks having kids who grow up without any direction or positive influence. They are immature and don't know ish but think that having kids makes them grown. It seems to occur more frequently that young girl are leaving her kids with young boyfriends who end up beating, raping and killing their children.

I agree. When babies have babies the outcome is normally not good.

These young mothers are allowing these men - many who they don't know very well - to come around their kids. Personally, I think these mothers are introducing these men to these kids WAY too early, including - GASP! - living together.
I say a single parent should not introduce their boyfriend/girlfriend to their kids until they have been dating a while and are on the same footing. Sadly, a lot of today's single mothers don't follow that rule of thumb.

Stupid people, so what if the child reminds him of the father. He needs to be taught a lesson.

WTF? The reasoning behind the things these KIDS are doing are becoming more and more for lack of a better word "simpler." A 4 week old BABY? This boy had no boundary or even aforethought. He's got nothing upstairs to even move him toward responsibility. These kids can make better decisions but they CHOOSE not to.

How could anyone hurt a little baby .... gheez ... these young kids are so clueless and heartless ... and so sad they seem to be starting out on the wrong foot at a young age.

I don't understand why women (and I guess in some cases men) have a need to expose their children to everyone they date. I guess you can't walk around paranoid about everyone you meet, but you also have to keep your personal life separate from your role as a parent in my opinion.
