Ladies, how many of you have been in abusive relationships and what did you do?
Personally, I have been in a relationship. I married the abuser, I was called every name in the book, his fingerprints were on my face, I had many things tossed at me until I fought back. I sought counseling 1st after that I fought back then I got a divorce to finalize it. It can ruin you because it did me until I allowed myself to heal and realized that I wasn't the cause. My children suffered but prayers and my believe in God and love for myself helped me accomplished my goal. Yes, I experienced a few messed up relationships after until I met my husband who gave me a new outlook on men and to realize that all men are not the same.
What are your experiences if any or just your feeling on abusive relationships wether it be the woman/man being the abuser?

Cinnaroll - thank you for sharing your story. I have never been in a physically abusive relationship and never understood why anyone would stay. I have heard stories like yours from friends and always said "Just leave". I know now that it isn't always that easy. I'm glad to hear that you sought counseling. You should be very proud of yourself!

never been in a physically abusive relationship but got out of a mentally and verbally abusive relationship. He never called me names but the mind games were very bad. The verbal abuse was more disrespect as far as things he would say around me, especially about other women.
