Has anyone taken self defense courses to protect themselves? Do you think all women should know even the basics?

I have thought about taking some classes, and all women should at least know the basics.

I'd like to take a class too.
I also want to take a fire arms class. My son's father bought me a gun several months ago and I can't wait to go out to the firing range.

I should probably take some classes just for protection. It's crazy out here!

I haven't taken a class, but I've had instructors show me stuff.
My mom and brothers have always been obsessed with testing and teaching me, though.
When I was really young ma used to practically bring me with tears roughing me up and going, "What if I were a stranger, what?"
My bros were a trip. Two broke in and snuck up behind me holding what they said was a gun into my back. I've been tackled when I was just minding my own business. Pulled into a van while walking down the street. Stuff like that.
I didn't get the point until more recently. All of the pointers they gave me were the same as the instructors I practiced with. Actually, my fam gave their suggestions and more.
I would still feel safer with a class, though. And I'm drawn to those suits that they let you practice on. I can't exactly eye gouge my bros. . .

They were serious about preparing you, weren't they?
