Ladies, we as Black women seem to have a love-hate relationship with our hair. We have very unique issues, experiences and concerns regarding our hair, that other ethnic groups do not share. Whether our hair is long, medium, short or natural, straightened, permed, dyed, twisted, locked, shaved or braided, it is a very important part of our identity and sometimes our self Esteem.
So what is your hair story? How do you wear it your hair? Is your hair and they way you where it important to you? I saw Diane Lane cut her hair for charity on the Today show this morning and I thought to myself "I could never do that!"
I have always had relatively long hair. I've cut it short a few times when I was younger but I would never dream of cutting it again. It's very much a part of who I am.
Your thoughts?

I have worn mine many ways but now I am just letting it grow because my hair is who I am.

My hair represents my patience, love, understanding and total acceptance of who I am.

My hair is just my freakin hair. I am the only one in my family that came out with long straight black hair. Right now it goes to the middle of my back. In the summer, its too long and I don't mind cutting (it grows back fast) ... in the winter I like it long only to help protect the cold wind on my neck.
Most of the time I wear my hair up so cutting it short wouldn't bother be one bit.

Oh my god... All of my life it has been the bane of my existence... It is not thick it is classified as 'fine" which means I have a lot of strands but they are thin. If I treat it bad... it looks bad. My hair breaks very easily I have perfect hair for locks, don't want locks. Most of the time I have it permed.
