Why do men, talk, walk and breathe, they will do anything to get a wonderful woman, go around the world if they have to, but then they meet her, and then they realize....I am not ready.
I gotta do this, and I gotta do that.
What is really going on?

The fear of commitment perhaps.

You would think that after reaching a certain age, men would be ready to settle down or if not, at least stop playing games with women. I think that part of that "I'm not ready," bull is that they still want to chase or play around. or wanting to "keep their options open."

I gotta do this, and I gotta do that. What is really going on? I think this has more to do with meeting the RIGHT woman. There is nothing wrong with a man expressing that he would do anything to meet a wonderful woman, but if something doesn't feel right, he will have reservations. And there's not anything wrong with that necessarily. That's not a reflection on the woman, she just may not be the right woman for him. If that is the case, it's better to find that out before either person invest a lot of time.

Unfortunately it doesn't stop at a certain age...
They can be just as controlling and abusive or Peter Pan(ish)as old men. I think because of the status quo for one.

I would rather he tell me now that he is not ready yet than to walk down the isle with me, have a baby and then tell me that he ain't ready yet.
I don't think there is anything wrong with them saying it ... they are just being honest and you can't fault a brotha for that. The sad part is when the guy is "saying" it and "showing" it but the girl keeps "ignoring" it.
