So ladies do you make an honest effort to look good EVERYDAY? If so, do you do it for yourself, your man or both?
I spend a great deal of time in the mirror MOST mornings. And I can't leave the house without makeup, perfume...the whole nine.
Yesterday I forgot to put on a necklace and I felt so naked because I always coordinate my jewelry with my outfit.
Am I just self-absorbed or can other ladies relate to this?
What do you do to look your best everyday?

I'm getting to the point of still having to wear make up when I go out in public, but as soon as I get home, I have to scrub it off.
That's one reason why I hate when people come over unannouced. I am in chill out mode as soon as I get home.

I used to... but after the chlidren now it is about half the time I do it. Nowadays I will walk out of the door bare-faced and put my makeup on AT work. Sometimes I don't even get around to it. This morning I took my son to school I had a little curl in my hair I ran my hands through it and stepped on, I was coming back home anyway.
I am not your basic plain jane but I don't stress on it. Because if you let folx see your face bare more times than none they won't particularly notice it when you don't have any on. The bare necessity for me is eyeliner and mascara... that 's it. No color. Now when I am in the mood my eyeshadow will match my clothes. I will wear the same pair earrings for WEEKS straight. It doesn't really bother me. My mom and and younger sis are the exact opposite the door won't open with no makeup on. My other sis (same age) wears NO makeup at all and her hair is chemical free. It doesn't really bother either of us.
It just depends on what your comfort level is. But believe it or not other people don't notice the things that you stress over.

As India.Arie sings, "Sometimes I shave my legs and sometimes I don't..." That's the way I feel about it.
If a woman wants to go the whole 10 yards every morning when it comes to clothes, makeup, etc., then she should do the dang thing. If not, that's cool, too. Usually, I am just very casual on a daily basis, but there are days I take some extra effort to make myself look more presentable. I do it more for ME than anyone else, really.

I don't wear makeup except on days that I'm going out to do something special/events. Maybe a lil' lip color here and there, but that's about it.
I only feel naked if I don't have on earrings.

I have been wearing make up since I was about 13 years old. Being that my features are so light I just look sick without it. At least I think I do. Well, actually, people have asked me if I was feeling bad when the've seen me without it.

I was the same way Blaque when I was single ... you wouldn't catch me in public without matching earrings, necklace, shoes and purse ... I made a point to look good everyday. I felt like I could run into Mr. Right at any time and I certainly didn't want it to be when I didn't look my best.
Once I met my husband, he pretty much does not like when I wear makeup ... he actually likes it when I wear nothing. I've learned to love myself without the makeup so I have no problem going out in public without make up or matching accessories.
When it comes to work, I wear minimal makeup, lipgloss and light powder to cut down on the shine. My clothes and accessories do not match like they use to prior to me getting married but with kids and a husband I don't have the time or energy anymore.
But hey girl ... m ore power to you! You go gurl!

I would say my hair and makeup which I don't wear much of. Most of the time, I don't have time to put it on before leaving for work so I do it in the car at red lights, or traffic.
There are times when I leave the house on the weekends for a quick run without taking sometime and that's when I see a nice looking man. Not that I am doing it for that but just don't like getting caught looking crazy.

But just as sure as I go to the super market or some other store looking like I just rolled out of bed, there will be a fine brother walking around by himself.

I try to take a few moments to work it out a little on the weekend just in case. Thing is that I only wear eyeliner (shadow on workdays) and lipstick but I focus more on my hair.

I'm slowly getting back into it. In college, I used to love to "make up" my face. After meeting my boyfriend, I stopped because he said that he didn't like seeing all that make-up and that I didn't need it.
Now almost seven years later, I'm back to adding color to my sometimes pale skin. I don't wear it on the weekend, but when I got out shopping and pass a mirror, thats when I wish I had.
