Father's Day is fast approaching.
Share a story, a memory or just give a shout out to a Father or Father figure from the past or present. Being that none of men on this board have children of their own, you can also take this as an opportunity to toot your own horn if you are a male role model to someone else's child.

I'll go first I guess. First I want to give a shout out to my dad. He is THE most wonderful father a girl could have. He and my mom both dropped out of high school and raised 10 kids together and he still raising some of his grand kids!
My parents have been married for 45 years.
Second, I want to give a shout out to my sweet husband ... he is such a wonderful father to our 3 year old son. I loved him for who he was but now I love him even more for the father he has become.
Third, I want to give a shout out to all the fathers who stepped up to the plate and take care of their children.
Happy Fathers Day!

I want to give a BIG shout out to my father as well. My mother and father were never married, but my dad was a big part of my childhood. He was always there. The first time I discovered what Valentine's day was is when my Dad came over for a visit with this huge heart shaped box of candy for me. No matter how old I am I will forever be a Daddy's girl.
I'm looking forward to seeing him this Sunday.

HUGE shoutout to my deceased father. He and my mother stayed married until he passed away. He worked hard everyday or night, depending on what shift he was on. He came home every day/night and worked hard around the house too. He and my mother were husband and wife as well as parents and partners. ;D Even though he has been gone for 23 years now, I never fell apart around Father's Day until last year, when I passed this area in the country that he used to like to go to every 4th of July.
