Spiritual Discontentment II
Ela Moyin, mo yin Iboru, mo yin Iboye, mo yin Ibosise, giving honor, praise, love first to Olodumare, Ela, Irunmole, and Egungun Ile, I dobale to those Spiritual Elders and Adepts of my Ancestral Homes-Idoromu Awuse, Iko Amusi, from the Ile Olokun to Ikole Orun.
One of my spiritual teachers who made a great impact on my development taught from this diagram and statement/premise.
"The moral duty of all those involved in this tradition is to do the duty of Righteousness in the name of Orisa." "To live within the guidelines of Otito O'dodo, which will bring the balance needed to accomplish destiny" "Anything other is not acceptable! Ase!" Many pretend, yet they do not live a righteous life." "Esu is watching and Orunmila is recording." "We will be judged by the Maker of All things ASE!!!" Oloye Fasina Falade, Olubikin of Ile Ife.
Honesty to Olodumare
Faith
Patience in Olodumare Humility to Olodumare
Service to Olodumare
The mandates of Ase de owo Olodumare- all power is in the hands of Olodumare(Eastern quadrant of Opon Ifa);Suuru ni Baba Iwa-Patience is the father of good character(Western quadrant of Opon Ifa);Won ni ki won wa ki won maa s'otitio, S'otito s'ododo. Eni ba s'otito ni mole ngbe-The inhabitants of the earth were advised to be truthful at all times. Be truthful be honest. The one who is truthful the Deity supports-(Northern Quadrant of Opon Ifa); Olodumare ni idajo-Only Olodumare judges(Southern quadrant of Opon Ifa).
These are the elements of forces at work that create spiritual discontentment, the forces that push towards not accepting mediocrity in forwarding the purpose and plan of Ifa.
There is "no" nor should it be competition of what country has better Ifa because they have made the religious mandates their principle construct of government, this is great but it is not a competition. Or what group of people are serving the interest of Ifa better or not-we are all spiritually infused by Olodumare whether we are Lucumi Yoruba, Candomble Yoruba, Afa, Voodoo, Akan. The question is are you building an organization or institution to further the worship of Ifa. Move forward and don't complain.
It is in (oye)understanding,(imo) knowledge, and the(ogbon) wisdom of Ifa that is the breaking ground for all who do not hear the words of Olodumare resignating in their spirit. These are spiritual principles that are also forces of spirit, living Deities themselves acting on us all.
On the graph above corresponds to a point of travel of the human spirit in its evolution and growth before it comes into manifestation on Aiye. Each spirit has a task to complete- not talk about-complete before it must return to spirit at afixed time.
There are spiritual forces created in the universe to prod, coerce, push, and mangle even if ones does not follow the course of destiny designated by Olodumare and Ori. The elements of worship are inherent within those basic principles. Our coduct in the world is tantamount, as we are in Ifa/Orisa, to create a dynatasy of spiritual elevation that has been submitted milleniums ago and which we agreed to before coming here.
When we sit in the seat of mediocrity and complain, we are not doing the job that was outlined in Spiritual Discontentment I.
The appropriate answers are: What can I do to change the condition of my people world wide? How do I improve my relationship with Olodumare in my conduct by the laws that are in place? What is the work according to Ifa that I should focus on that will bring about improved conditions? Even the smallest of act if worthy if the pursuit is heart felt and genuine..

Incantation for Blessing Water:

Lord of Heaven and Earth
Send the breath of goodness to us
Bring good health to us; command the forces of Heaven to come before us
Lord of Heaven and Earth
Send the breath of the elders that have gone before us to prevent confusion/destruction
Command the water to bring improved conditions
In Your Name, Ase
When I first heard this prayer, I felt the power of Olodumare enter the space and it was at a worship service at the Ara Ifa Ijo Orunmila Temple.
I knew that this ancient prayer would change the conditions because it inspired me to work in the name of Ifa at this temple to make a difference.
We-they had and have art programs for our children on the weekend; camping for our family members to show Orisa in nature, teaching our children the first principles of communication with Dieties,; we developed a womens program called Oyadun Healing spaces for women to find out about alternatives in health, law, art, for ourselves and families because our mothers are the first god a child knows; there are formal classes for Awo's and intermediate and advance classes for those growing towards Awo and more. The contribution of the membership and the priests there was phenomenal and unique in the giving spirit of these people.
But I remember there were times when Baba Fasina sat alone or with me, waiting for people to show up and they did not. It was this person who told me that," you do the work even if is just you but Ifa will send the help". Just do the right thing.
This work continues there and will continue in each of us that are off-shoots of this principle program and institution of Ifa- just different names.
We donot have the needed institutions that will bring us into the 22nd,23rd, 0r 25th centuries yet, we must work, we must do more period.
I look at my Ifa every morning praying that I am bringing more into this world and making it better that when I leave I can say to my Creator I have accomplished my destiny. When I go to sleep my prayer to Ifa and Ori is that I can accept all that Olodumare has brought to me. The good and the difficult.
Again this is not a neo-political pursuit, yes there are politics in our tradition and Orunmila was great at it; at great risk and peril, which is why we can enjoy the fruits of his labor. However, when do we become Orunmila's agents by continuing the work he started. Learn good Ifa, adhere to the principles of Olodumare, work towards moving forward in establishing the worship of Olodumare.
The spiritual discontent should in its truth alienate one from the nay sayers, it is okay because it ain't" about the you's of the world", it is about the observations made from a personal point of view as a priest of Ifa, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife, sister, friend, and teacher for a period of time. It is about the person who is feeling this same spiritual discontentment and not able to see the forest for the trees. It is for the person who knows what I know and more because they have seen the spiritual dreams that have been sent by Olodumare on the job at hand but are not sure in how to implement the task. There is help on the way.
The observations made in working in Temples throughout this country; venturing to worship in Yoruba land; living in Ghana and worshipping in those homelands. Those observations brought about some remedies and through those experiences the spiritual element of this discontment, I found why and wanted to pass this on to those who will find themselves in the same spiritual place and will be at the brink of quitting-there is Hope.
My blessing is that Ifa has given me a quest and I am moving through that quest to worship, write, create a place of worship for my people just like many other Ifa tradtional priest are doing across this world not just this country. We talk, call each other, have meetings, and even disagree but we never stop working for what Olodumare has mandated us to do.
I have been insecure about my language skills or that or recitation of Odu Ifa or even my committment not being sure of if I was doing the right thing. It is when those Black birds light the night sky with their song and I know they could come for me,if I choose to languish in this passage of time and pain complaining, then I understand to what end I really am working towards.
When I see behind with my mother's eyes;
There came a day when I awoke within
Looking through my Mother's eyes
To the spirit of my true self
Seing with the Truth Seer eye
My great grandmother's
The Unshackled Ones,
The Iyanla's of Brilliant Ile Ife Skies
Generations of mothers looking back and looking ahead
At their daughter who turned to mothers,
Who turned to daughters turned to mothers?
Over and Over again
This is when I remember the forces that pushed me to this spiritual discontment seeing my children and grand children-great grandchildren blessing me by saying their grandmother is from Afrika then I know that I am on my change....
