To what degree are whites responsible for the problems in the Black community? think blacks need to take more responsibility for our own actions. Its not the white mans fault their incarcerated (most of the time). Its not the white mans fault that they CHOOSE to sale drugs over workin a 9-5. There are alot of reasons why we fall behind in society and even though White America is the cause for some I definitely dont feel they are the cause for everything. What are your thoughts?

I feel that they are responsible for retarding the progress of black americans by reaping the benefits of black labor. The constitution was not written with the black person in mind. There are too many loopholes in the government. The abilty to borrow money, to own land and to be who we are has been stepped on for a very long time. Reparations of ANY kind? Nope. I'll tell you what else they did... dropped drugs off in our neighborhoods kind of helped round out our self destruction. Oh yeah, they began this mess by pretending that we weren't even human. Now the problem is how are we gonna get ourselves out.
As for some of the choices we make it is true the white man has not made them. I think we sometimes get a false sense of security in thinking that we can do whatever they do and get away with it. But it is an illusion and we get a false sense of entitlement for thinking that we are just like them, we are but we are not, if that makes sense. To them someone has to be on the bottom, just as long as it ain't them.

I think they have created systems that have contributed to our problems. i.e. issues in Africa are the result of colonization and occupation. Issues in the U.S. are the result of government policies that do not include us.
They key for us would be to learn the system and work it to our advantage. Easier said than done for some folks.

They set the foundation, for our failures. But we can never deny, our contributions to it either. SWEETPIE put it on point......again.
