As many of you know, I float around on this thing called the internet, recently I got involved in a Nigerian Forum, thought I might find connection with my people across the continent. Boy was I wrong, It is sad, but my thoughts are as such, we as a people. I speak of us born here in new europe decendants of enslaved Africans, we have been stripped of everythin (yes I sound like a broken record) but is true we were stripped of our land, names, religion, roots, language, even pride. we are bastards so to speack on this planet. We have no home. We claim Africa, but Africa doesn't claim us. We don't claim USA (at least I dont) as I have said before this is American Indian land not ours unless given to us by them, but anyway some of us claim USA and yet USA does not claim us either, just look at the constitution carefully, look who it was written for not us. It was written for white men . Look at the justice system just-us not Justice. So in that I am thinking I am wondering, are we to be a people unto ourselves, where can we have land a country that is ours seeing that it eems the rest of the world does not want us, we are as vagabons on the face of the earth. What is the slution, hmmm , maybe I and others like me should stop worrying or thinking about the continent, and other places where we live, Jamaica, I don't even bother, not against Jamaicans but again the same treatment, most feel they are better than us. This is sad, however for some reason we still survice, we still keep going. vagabons bastards to the earth, where is our place where is our rest. tired tired tired

Here’s what I think. I don’t know what was said on the Nigerian board that would cause you to think we (Blacks in general) should abandon/disassociate ourselves with Blacks from our homeland. As much as I love and respect you, your viewpoint is not indicative of every Black person in New Europe. And likewise, the people on the website you visited are not spokespeople for all of Africa. People are allowed to see things differently and have differing view points. I will continue to love and embrace Africa because it’s a part of me. If there are Native Africans that don’t return those sentiments, that’s fine. It won’t change how I feel about my homeland.
We are a reflection of each other. There is no denying that. So if Native Africans want to disassociate themselves from African Americans or vice versa, so be it. I will continue to feel how I feel.

My perspective is this...our ancestors came here as long as 400 years ago. We are NOT Africans, and regardless of our history in THIS country, it is STILL our history! We are AMERICANS..Americans whose roots just so happen to be in Africa, just like Americans with roots in "old" Europe, Asia, India, or elsewhere.
The problem that I see with the attitudes of many AAs is that we seem to be expecting someone ELSE to accept us into this place that we're ALREADY in, but many of us don't even accept ourselves here.
Much love to my African people, but I'm an American, and I'm proud of that, and I don't care who else believes that, or accepts me, cause I already have, and I think that's the attitude that more of us need to have.

Sudan, I did not realize that it was westernized, I looked for communication and bridge building, but today as I was thinking, I realize what the problem is of some Africans on the continent , they are to young to remember the live days of colonialism, the days when they were struggling for what they now call independance, one of the differences between they and us is many of us here in new europe see what is going on we have grown up with it and know it for what it is, they have not experienced the days of Kwame Nkrumah, Malcolm X I grew up on the fringes of Mark Clark Fred Hampton, etc. and growing up here again we see what it is, they don't and is sad Peace Osunkoya-Ifayomi
