Fellow brethren, I write for you see or ask the same question that, I asked above. What is the worth of a man, who graduated from the unversity, applied for jobs, but got underpaid ones' being disturbed to get married, cos he has attained the age, the biolgical clock ticks, consistently, with no hope in sight, than to think anyhow, again, what is the worth of the man, who is afraid of,the dawn but prefer the night, where lies his hope?

Your worth is not in the things you attain, but in what you have learned. I have learned that i can be happy, and not have a permanent mate!!! I have learned, that all women ain't created equal. I have learned, that I must work to live, not live to work!!!. I have learned that GAWD, is not owned by anyone!! I have learned, to VALUE GOOD FRIENDS AND FAMILY. I have learned, to love myself FIRST!!!!, then I can love others!!!!. I have learned, not to watch, or hang around mindless people!! I have learned, to LISTEN FIRST, then answer the question!!! I have learned, to love, unconditionally I have learned to be a better black man. I have learned self discipline. And finally, I have learned to LOOK OUT!!! not only for myself, but others, even if, I my look bad initially, this builds character!!!!! the only thing other then your SOUL, you own!!!!!!!! I hoped i helped answer your question, one more thing to remember!!!! Value, like looks, is in the EYE of the beholder!!. It's up to you to increase your Value, not the world!!!!

What IS the worth of a man? You are one of some that has come to THE realization... I look and I see that brothas can be so much more. But they settle and their paths get altered by the drift of being led instead leading. I got issues... I got issues bad with brothas... Don't get me wrong you all are so beautiful but a lot of you live beneath yourselves. I am not saying this because I want to drive a bigger schism between us. I just want to say what I feel... without the fear of being attacked as a woman a black woman. I know ignorance/wrongdoing whatever you want to call it is on both sides of the fence. But I look at the brotha because he has a place and that place is to lead. I may not agree with what he does in his life but I do get tired of him steering himself in fools way. Why do the negative out number the positive? Seems like it is learned. I know of many instances in which he should of, could of stepped up but didn't and won't because it is more difficult, but many sit back and blame others for the negativity in their lives. It is about what he makes it and if he doesn't put it out there in the correct manner he will positively end up in the wrong, by being caught up in BS. Yeah, my heart aches heavy for him because he is like me, black like me and he is just as good as the other men but I wish more of them would not just see that but BE that.

Girl I see it everyday, I see where they are and where they aren't. I pray that I don't raise a son that feels doing wrong is his only way to get something out of life.

Yeah, my heart aches heavy for him because he is like me, black like me and he is just as good as the other men but I wish more of them would not just see that but BE that. I recolonize you for the strong sistah, you are. But you are wrong to assume, good black men don't exist in large enough numbers. We do, and like the rest of Black Society, we are IGNORED!!!, considered weak, because we are not led by our noses,or by a book!!, Or will NOT raise children, who's mothers think we should make up for lost time!!!. Most of us have jobs, can't hang, have children we do take care of. Some of us go to church, but we also see the BS in there, and leave them alone too. This is really about bad choices made on both sides, based on how we feel the world perceive us. We both have the KEYS to unlock the mental cells, that we inhabit. But comfort, and familiarity, keeps us from using it. When I see a sistah, like YOU, tell it like it is!!!!. I sometimes, wonder, how many types!!! of black-men you went through, before you came up with your opinion, of US, which is on point, if directed to the right people. Who we both know, ain't reading this, because they are too busy, trying to be DOWN. Instead of just being a MAN. As you correctly!!!!!! pointed out and my point of contention!!!!!, I wish more black women would give MORE black men a chance!!! instead of black boys, in mens, body's. Everybody is entitled to a mistake or two. But to keep making the same mistake ,over and over, and not take a strong look at your likes and dislikes, about black-men. Is just as wrong as the men you have seen, and or dated, that may have done you wrong!!!. I mention this, because I felt the bitterness, in your well crafted, words, but heard nothing about REAL CHANGE!!!, which is needed in our community period!!! not more TALK One of many BLACK MEN, and Your FRIEND, DOLPHINFAN

Don't get me totally wrong here, yes there are some positive brothas that exist. Yes, I have history of a boyfriend that did me wrong but I did go thru the process of figuring out that of course all men are not the same. I dated and it wasn't until I met my husband and he got the ultimate prize of dealing with my bitterness and in that sense I have no more. What you are hearing from me is the version of the brotha in my neighborhood. He walks the street during the day and for one he hasn't been out of jail long enough to get on his feet, he walks over to the drug house and hang over there and of course this is after he's come back from the convenience store to get his 40. Now where I don't see him is in church, or leaving with the rest of us to work. If I am not a work and ride through the other parts of the neighborhood I see more of them trying to catch my eye so they may sell me some weed. I live in a small community and there are 3 major companies in the area and where I work we have at least 1200 employees and I can count one hand the black male population in there.
I see the men that are out and about in the community. There are honestly NOT enough of them. Now I attend a little church and we are always trying to come up with some ways to give to the community by having a yearly carnival in the parking lot, a fish fry for the seniors, we even have a weekly enrichment program for kids to come and do their homework, learn life skills and bible principles, crafts that kind of thing and for adults we have bible study. Do you think the parents bring their kids? We are not big enough to ride out and go get them aside from dealing with our own. This part is not just on the men. We have trifling mothers also that leave their children at daycare too long and it is ridiculous.
Dolphinfan, yeah, you may hear some bitterness because the numbers for contributing to the community is practically nil. We also have leadership cadets which teaches teens to strive for excellence. Unless you are actually supporting them and I mean going to get the child and bring them home etc., you won't get the cooperation you need from the parents. That is why I say black folx are always trying to get something for nothing. It takes sacrifice to have something in your life. Many of these folx here are not willing to give it. If one has a child they would have to adapt their life around having that child, not making the child adapt to your life. You would eliminate things here and there and add what is needed. It is simple, they are not willing to do it. I appreciate you letting me go on about it but these are some of the things that attempt to overshadow the good.
Yes, I do understand that it is an uphill battle to be recognized as a respectable person who actually cares about being about something. Just keep on keeping on.

And i APPRECIATE, your response, it was honest, factual, and most importantly, DEEP!!! I and a few of my friends use to do work at boys clubs and big brother, but it became nothing more then a dump off for the parents. And kids always know this, and at some point loose interest and drop out!!!. That and the turmoil , that happens in everybody life, made me give it up. I do plan to head back to it. But I still have a few things to work out, up(work wise) here!!!. It's refreshing to hear a sistah, be able to RELEASE, the truth, then just tell it like it is, all the time. I thank you, for your HONESTY
