Why is it that some people appear to have double standards when it comes to domestic violence?
I for one say that no one - man nor woman - should hit a woman/man under any circumstances. However, I feel there are a few exceptions to that rule:
* If a man is attacking a woman with a weapon (of any sort), she should do whatever it takes in order for her to get him off of her and get away.
* If an unarmed man is hitting a woman, she should be able to push/hit him to the point that she can get away.
* If a man is being attacked by an unarmed woman, he should restrain her to the point that he can get away.
* If a woman is attacking a man with a weapon (of any sort), he should do whatever it takes to get her off of him and get away.
I don't think those are unreasonable exceptions. Do you?
With that said, how come some women take offense to a man hitting an armed woman?
Why do some women feel a woman should hit a man regardless, but a man should not touch a woman period.
Why do some men feel it is okay to hit women period?

Brother B. we are in agreement on this one. No one should hit anyone else - period. HOWEVER, if they are being hit or attacked it’s a different story. I am truly blessed because I have never been hit by a man and God willing, I will never find myself in a situation like that.

There are so many double standards. I willnot even date a woman, with a violent past. OH B, does this count, if you are being attacked, by a women, with a vicious tongue? Sometimes, words hit harder then fist. NOT THAT I',M CONDONING VIOLENCE!!! of any kind.

I don’t understand why people stay in abusive relationships of any kind.
One of my biggest fears when I think about marriage is being with someone who could hurt me physically or emotionally.
I would hate to invest all that emotionally energy into a relationship just to leave with quickness if a man tried to kill my spirit or harm me physically.
Men AND women are guilty of this and I don’t know why anyone would tolerate it, even if there are kids involved.

I believe that some people, are just scared to death of dying alone, or just being alone for the rest of there life.
