A deadly E. coli outbreak linked to bagged spinach has spread to a ninth state, with Ohio officials reporting seven cases, The Associated Press reports.WASHINGTON (AP) -- Federal health officials worked Friday to find the source of a multistate E. coli outbreak and warned consumers that even washing the suspect spinach won't kill the sometimes deadly bacteria. One person died and dozens of others were sickened in the eight-state outbreak, linked by Food and Drug Administration officials to bagged spinach. "We need to strive to do even better, so even one life is not lost," said Dr. Andrew von Eschenbach, FDA's acting commissioner. The FDA warned people not to eat bagged spinach and said washing it wouldn't solve the problem because the bacteria is too tightly attached. I brought three bags last week and had one left!!! , it's going in the trash. I had the * Krisp Pak brand*. I like to use spinach in place of romaine lettuce. . my mom called me up, and that was the first thing, she said, and I was coming here to let my FAVORITE VEG HEAD, know,but as usual, you are on the ball.

The outbreak is now in 23 states, mainiy along the East Coast/Great Lakes and out west.
I don't think we down South get the name brand of spinach they announced on TV.
