Hi now this may seem a little cruel or insensitive but is it time for the Black Race to cut the dead weight. I mean just cut loose those wont stop commiting crime, using drugs, or just plain being ignorant. Is it time for those who want to move ahead to look forward and not back. Is it time to actually have expectations of those who want to move forward and stop accepting the B.S. of those determined to stay ignorant that only holds us all back. They hold us back because we waste time reaching back only to get called "sellouts" or have our hand slapped back cause "We ain't black". Beacuse we actually have hearts we waste more time than we should trying to help those who don't want it and are happy where they are no matter how messed up that might be. Maybe, just maybe it's time to look forward and stop looking back. Don't feel guilty, if those left behind wish to catch up the path you have walked will still be there.... I couldn't agree more GLC3. I'm tired of people who make excuses as to why they don't have anything. I'm tired of people blaming others as to why so many Black people are using drugs and end up in jail. We didn't grow up with a money tree in our backyard, but we worked hard, stayed out of trouble and made something of ourselves. You can reach out to some people all you want to, but until they decide that they want to better their situation it is pointless.

I don't see how that's possible. How is that possible to cut 'dead weight'?
And what would happen to those people? Some of them don't know any other way and WANT to but afraid.
What do we round 'em up and leave them on a deserted island and try to keep up with the White folks here? Or do people that want life free of violence etc, are going to pack our bags and go live on an Island somewhere?
How would this work?

Chi - What I got out of what GLC wrote was that we should stop trying to save people who don't want to be saved. Anyone with a heart will offer help to those who are less fortunate. But let's face it, some people don't want help.

I agree cutting the dead weight should happen. But it has to be done RIGHT!!!. Or we will create a bigger underclass of black people!!! I say that if we CLAMP DOWN on our Kids Young!!!! give them every opportunity to become a man or a woman!!! then say twenty five!!!. If they don't know how to act. Or do things to help them self POSITIVELY, THEN DROP IT LIKE IT"S HOTT if they show no interest, in being a more positive PERSON!!! Your Plan is a good one, BUT!!! must be done right ,so we can recognize the people who are SLOW!! or never had parentage!!. thats needed to make this work!!!, Right!!. Now, it's to scattered for us to do right now. We have two thirds of black men going to jail, before 25. And I can't see just dropping them!!! all at once!!. But would love to see it happen. But with more thought behind it. NOW DROPPING OUR BLACK LEADERS!!, we needed to do that YESTERDAY ;D

I'm not saying to round them up, I'm saying stop wasting time helping those who don't want or don't appreciate it. Our/your efforts would be better spent on someone who wants better.

I think we need to adopt the "TRIAGE" principle. We've got to (1) focus more on the ones who are doing the right thing and PRAISE them, (2) help those a lot who are on the fence and (3) let the ones who are sinking the boat go on down. We simply don't have enough resources for everybody. Right now, we're focusing too much on the ones who are sinking the boat and this is why our whole boat is sinking while we're ignoring the ones who are doing the right things and we don't spend nearly enough on the ones who are on the fence.

And that's my thought in a nutshell. Couldn't have said it better myself.
