It starts in the home but I couldn't vote for "a lack of a father in the home". You know how I feel about that. I don't care if it is a single parent situation or a traditional two parent home, parents have to start taking an active part in raising their kids. Children watch too much television. They play video games excessively. They are on the computer unsupervised. What is all of that about? Like I said, it starts in the home. Parents must stress education, church, community involvement and most importantly be good role models. If more parents did that, those other things on your list wouldn't be issues.

all of the above with a possible exception of fathers not being in the home. Right now, my sentiments mirror MsB's. I also feel that the "promotion" of other races hurts us as black people; when black people find "beauty" or other "good things" in other races while putting their own race down.

Lack of education. Lack of correct parental raring. No longer an extended family where everyone supported each other. Racist mentality. Ignorance. There is so many more.

I would pick all of the above...but in the end, it's just simply....complacency.
