Mike Nifong. On Monday, Nifong released a statement refuting the article. The Newsweek article refers to an angry email sent by Nifong. But Nifong said Monday that the Newsweek article misrepresented the tone of his response and he wanted to set the record straight. In the interview request from Newsweek magazine, Nifong wasted no time blasting national media outlets. In an email response to the magazine, Nifong said, "What has surprised me is the utter lack of any degree of skepticism on the part of the national media with respect to the claims of the defense attorneys, many of which are misleading and some of which are absolutely false." He goes on to say, "Their job, after all, is to create reasonable doubt...." Nifong referred to the Mike Peterson murder trial, saying the same thing happened then and points out the prosecution got a conviction in that case. In the lacrosse case, three players are charged with rape. An exotic dancer told police the three assaulted her during a party at a house near campus. Defense attorneys say the players are innocent and the allegations false. Still, the district attorney has remained confident in pursuing the case, and makes it clear in this email he has no plans to back down. Nifong said, "None of the facts I know at this time.... have changed the opinion that I expressed initially." The Newsweek Article: Has Duke Case Collapsedwww.msnbc.msn.com/id/13392547/site/newsweek/

So, why is Nifong upset again? He said what he said. Who cares was his temperament was when he made the statements?

I think he doesn't like the media hounding the case.
They have good reason to be on top of it. The case is full of holes and inconsistencies.

It stinks a lot, doesn't it?
Saw a clip of MSNBC's Dan Abrams online....he said in his own way Nifong should drop the case....there was this black female...a former prosecutor...who basically refused to acknowledge the inconsistencies.
