Brandon didn't do so well but he can sing better than Sanjaya. I am not going to be happy until his little non-singing behind is gone. I heard this morning that there is an under ground movement to keep him on the show. I can't wait to hear more about that. Yeah, I agree Brandon had been singing better I think he got a case of stage fright. But his ultimate problem was that he could not distinguish himself from the others. The other guys sort of bring it but they are not actually as good singers as Brandon is to tell you the truth . I gotta check on that underground movement. Sweetpie, I heard on the news that Howard Stern is urging all of his listeners to vote for Sanjaya. Not because he likes him as a singer, but this because that's just how he is. I also heard that there is an Anti-Idol website that urges people to vote for the worst singer on the show. Last year it was Kelly Pickler or whatever her name is. By trying to be contrary, what these people are doing is having an opposite effect. They basically giving AI free publicity because people are watching to see the judges rip Sanjaya to shreds every week.

Oh at da Idol tonight everyone tried to step up the game! Of course, there were a few stragglers... The British Invasion!! For those who don't know those are songs from the 60's. They had Lulu ("To Sir with Love" sound track from a Sidney Poitier movie, for those that really don't know) to help the girls and Peter Noonan (of Herman's Hermits fame) to help the guys. Anyhoo... They began with Haley she began the set with "Tell Him" Ehhh... THEY gave her a pretty good review... for her... in my opinion she didn't sing it very well, she had a sexy look tho' but that was about it for me. Chris Richardson sang "Don't let the sun catch you cryin." It was one of HIS best vocals to date accompanied by an accoustic guitar and singing slower much more purposefully. That might be his thing right there. Stephanie, Stephanie, STEPHANIE!! She sang "You don't have to say you love me," Even Lulu said she reminded her of Beyonce... Isn't that what I have been saying all along? My daughter made a joke, she said Stephanie sang a different note at the beginning of the song and she sounded different... she sounded like HERSELF! Dammit! She has got to find Stephanie... I mean under the bed, in the closet I don't care where but the girl has got to find herself or she is gonna have a "bad day." Prediction one of the bottom 3. Blake sang "Time of season" actually it wasn't bad at all he stuck with the original melody and gave his flavor. Lakisha sang "Diamonds are Forever" a Shirley Bassey tune of James Bond soundtrack fame. Actually she sang it flawlessly. She did not get the greatest reviews from the judges tho'. When she was with Lulu she tried to encourage her to sing another song with more soul but Lakisha stuck to her guns. I felt she should have sung the other song also. I thought she looked very beautiful... she had on a green romanesque dress with diamond jewelry and girl had cleavage for days. She may have fallen a little this week in the judges eyes. In my opinion her amateur/naivete is beginning to show in her decision making. Phil Stacey sang "Tobacco Road" I said WTF??? No Way! He can't do it! Now the Tobacco Road I'm thinking of was done by Lou Rawls when he was a chap. His version... well, there is NO ONE that can top it. So I'm like... how da heyell is this white boy gonna beat dat? Ah Ha! He went rock widdit, which softened it up enough to be slightly believable... good vocals, good performance. BUT! He may end up in the bottom 3 as Simon predicts. That WAS risky. Jordin our little singing bird sang "I who have nothing" another Shirley Bassey ditty was better to me this week. Strong song, good delivery. She has moved into the #3 spot. Sanjaya sang "You really got me" well... he was different and actually it was his BEST performance tho' I didn't agree with some of the notes he hit. One of the bottom 3. (Someone please end my --er his misery). Gina Glockson sang "Paint it black" girl wants to be rock so bad... she was a little off pitch wasn't a flawless peformance it was okay for her. Judges felt she could have done better with it. Actually you need to be buzzed listening to her then you can miss the funky notes she hits. Chris Sligh sang "She's not there"... I don't know what more can he do because usually when I listen the first time he sounds okay but when I hit him on the repeat, I'm like... I didn't hear that before! And it ends up not being as good as I thought. He MAY slip through bottom 3. Of course they saved the best for last... Melinda... I may be a little biased when it comes to her... DATS MY GIRL! She sang "As long as he needs me." Da chick is a pro in her own right. She can take ANY song and give it life. It was one of those torch songs just an average tune and put her spin on it, no over singing, no tumbling up and down the scale etc. What a way to end a show. I loved her look, the hair was on the money. She got my 60 votes. Whew! I got arthritis my fanger. Go on haid girl! Well, I checked in for once and watched the entire show. My views:
* Haley was flat during her performance. Put her in the bottom three. * Chris appeared to have gotten better than from what I saw before. * Stephanie chose the wrong song, in my view. She was too pitchy with her delivery. * Blake had the second best performance of the night. A great spin on an oldie, yet was able to nail the original delivery. * Lakisha: Wrong song, honey. You did that song an injustice. Don't be surprised if she is in the bottom three. * Phil: Big gamble with his take on Tobacco Road. I don't know how voters will interpret it. * Jordin had the best performance of the night. She did a great job. And she's just 17? Wow. * Gina and Chris: Not impressed, especially Gina * Sanjay: Oh boy. I think that girl crying over him was faking. He has to go quick, with his El DeBarge looking self. * Malinda: Nice performance.

Holy crap! Sanjiyah is still on here.
Then again, this is a popularity contest, not who is the best singer. That's what pop music's all about.

I knew it... I had a strong feeling about her leaving. 3 brothas and sistas gone in the past 3 weeks. I liked that Lulu she an amazing woman. Lakeshia should have been one of the strongest instead she was in the next cut. But like I said she has been making decisions that haven't been in her best interest and it becomes apparent each week. Strong showing for Phil tho' that risk was a win for him! Melinda betta had been in the top 3 or I'ma hafta cut sumbody! and Blake coming thru with the skills.

No BP, it was her talent and her decision making of the songs she sung. She made one perfect song choice and that was "How come U don't call me anymore" by Prince. I will be honest I have not had the inclination to vote for her. She didn't have the "wow" factor for me. If I felt it I would have voted for her.

She wasn't the worst, but I agree with Sweetpie, she didn't have that Wow factor.

I didn't catch the show until the third singer came on so actually I missed the theme of the show. They had Gwen Stefanie of No Doubt fame and the songs ranged from disco, strange, youthful and adult contemporary.
Lakesha was first she went disco in a pretty multicolored satin dress singing "Last Dance" by Donna Summer. It was a flawless performance. I liked her hair and she had cleavage for days as usual and she pulled off the song successfully. I don't know what the judges said though.
Next was Chris Sligh singing "Everything she does is magic" he has a tendency to sing a little too fast for the music. I don't think it was his best performance. But in some ways it was better because he did stay on key thru the higher notes a little better than usual.
Gina sang I'll stand by you" it was dramatic and the judges thought it was her best performance. It was a little boring for me though.
Sanjaya I only have one word "Ugh" he sang some song called "Bath Water." I wasn't diggin the makeshift mohawk or the singing either. At this point it really doesn't make any difference what the judges say about him tired azzed folx are gonna vote for him anyway. I am hoping my mom is finally seeing the light.
Haley sang "True Colors" it was a good song for her, it was a "safe" song it didn't knock the judges out, me either.
Phil sang "Every step you take" sounding like Sting, good vocals I liked his performance.
Melinda sang a disco ditty called "Heaven knows" of course she was her professional self. She had on a multi colored top with black leggings. Simon didn't like her outfit at all. That is the first negative comment she has gotten in this competition.
Blake sang "Love Song" good vocals it was a "safe" song for him though.
Jordin sang No Doubt's " Hey baby hey" she sung it well it was youthful. Simon said she was the most improved but the song was a bit copycatish . That's a big girl.
Chris Richardson sung "Don't Speak" Good vocals he put a little R&B spin on it and it was a good song choice for him, judges advised that he pay a little more attention to his vocal.
Well I am still on the phone calling for Melinda I am at about 35 calls now. Check ya.

After watching Sanjaya and that hair, I might go on a hunger strike if he remains on the show.
I think the girls did well. The only one that really stood out for me was Gina. I think she did a really nice job.
As for the guys, I liked Blake and Chris Richardson (representing VA!). Thise two are the most unique.

I know I thought that girl was trippin on the hunger strike thang. She might have something there though. I really don't know who may go home tomorrow. Let me think here hmmm.... hopefully Sanjaya, Chris Sligh might be in the bottom 2, Haley is not a bad singer just not good enough, Chris R may end up back in the bottom 2 you never know. Well I got my 100 votes in for Melinda... my girl ain't going anywhere if I can help it! I tried to call my mother I fear she is on the phone voting for Sanjaya.

I am not laughing and don't see this mess they are creating a bit funny. They pulled Blake, Lakeshia and Phil and Phil was in the bottom 3. They pulled Melinda, Chris R. and Sanjaya ALL SAFE. Haley bottom 3, Jordin safe, then there was the toss up between Gina and Chris S. for the last bottom 3 spot. Then Phil safe, Haley safe, Chris? Got the door and they had time this time for him to sing his song on out of the door. His family didn't look a bit amused and I see why, all that effin' non-talent sitting up there. Somebody lyin' and it is effing up the people that CAN sing. I am not saying Chris was the best but he sho nuff was better than that B.S. Sanjaya displayed yesterday. I dont' care what the teenagers and those stupid websites say the boy sucks... hard. This is not what I thought it was, it has become more about just gathering the votes. Just doing something silly to give to the crowd and let the suckers eat it. I was very disappointed with these results.

Chris is gone because he f-cked up. You vote on how they performed that night, not what they did during the entire season. He screwed that song up. He deserved to get the boot.
Yes, Howard is telling his listeners to vote for Sanjaya, but his camp isn't the one keeping that kid on there. It's those ignorant teen/pre-teen girls that's keeping him on there.
