We need to take Sanjaya completely out of the equation because that kid ain’t going anywhere. Chris didn’t do a great job this week. I agree with what the judges said, he was off the beat the entire time. Out of the performances that I saw (again, let’s forget about Sanjaya) he was the worst. But I did like him and wished he would have gone further in the competition.

This week featured music from the swing era so they pretty much sung standards guest starring Tony Bennett. You will have to excuse me I am trying to dial and type Blake sang "Mack the knife" it was cute. Then Phil Stacey came back with "Night and Day" a slow tune he has sung bigger. Melinda went with "I got rhythm she took the song and made 3 tempo changes within a minute and a half! She is still smooth. I liked it. Justin -- er-- Chris R sang Mr. Saturday night the judges really liked it. It wasn't bad the guys are trying to step up the game. I actually believe Jordin did "On a clear day" pretty good and is still convincing everyone that she should be one of the top 3. Gina didn't impress me this week it was sort of lukewarm for me. Haley in my opinion did a little better than Gina but I don't think the judges thought so. Sanjaya ho hum I guess I will do like Simon the opposite it was good! Lakesha did an impressive "Stormy Weather" and is still going strong! I predict Gina, Haley and Phil bottom 2/3 however many in there. Be back tomorrow. Well I'm tired I did my 150 votes for Melinda, I need to go to bed.

Yeah fa real...
Check me now! Who did I say was gonna be the bottom 3! Haley, Gina and Phil of course Phil survived.
Sanjaya, Chris and Blake were the next up and Melinda, Lakesha and Jordin were the strongest contenders.
But it was lucky Gina that got tha boot! And she had a bittersweet song to sing in the end "Smile when your heart is breaking, smile when your faith is shaking! To bad for her though she wasn't the worst singer. But to tell you the truth her yesterday's performance did not move me one bit.

I wasn't surprised but the bottom 3 this week. But if I were an American Idol contestant I would be so angry that Sanjaya is still in the competition. It's just crazy. The thing that gets me is that he has the nerve to be arrogant and try to get smart with Simon. He needs a reality check. The only reason he is still in the competition is because there is a large portion of American who want to make a mockery of the show. That's the ONLY reason he is still there. Sanjaya needs to get over himself.

If were involved with American Idol and Sanjaya won, I would refuse to sign him.
All of these people who are voting for him now that they would not spend good money on a Sanjaya CD.

The Latin sound! Jennifer Lopez is guest on Idol.
Melinda Doolittle — Sway — Excellent vocal it was mid tempo so I can see why Simon wanted to trash it. I liked the look she did have a 60's look though, I think that may have put Simon off a little.
Lakisha Jones — Conga — I thought she sang good. Hair was looking good and that over abundance of cleavage has seem to become her trademark. I think she needs to make some better decisions though.
Chris Richardson — Smooth — Loved it! he put his original spin on it.
Haley Scarnato — Turn the Beat Around — Haley, Haley, Haley she was absolutely not a strong enough singer to pull this song off. It fell flat to me. Well she went back with shorts thing AGAIN. Phil Stacey — Maria Maria — He actually sang this song good but he had a couple of flaws that may hurt him, he had a couple of squeeks during the song on his high notes. I would say singing too much his voice is beginning to show strain. The judges definitely made note of them.
Jordin Sparks — Rhythm is Gonna Get You — She sang good but it wasn't a wow for me.
Blake Lewis — I need to know - He was alright I mean he wasn't Mark Anthony or nothing.
Sanjaya Malakar - Bésame Mucho this may be his niche! Slow unassuming songs that one doesn't have to put effort into. Simon said he couldn't understand a word he sung, Paula said it was nice and Randy gave him a thumbs up too.
Hmmm bottom 2/3?
Haley, Sanjaya, Phil
I got my 200 votes in for Melinda earlier tonight.

I don't expect to see Sanjaya in the bottom. Last night was his best performance so far. I'm thinking Haley, Phil and either Blake or Chris...but we'll see what happens because you never know.

Upon a relook at the guys they seemed to have stepped it up. Bottom 3 Phil, Haley and Chris. Everyone else was safe. I think Phil thought he was gone. It was Haley's time, the legs gave out. Jennifer Lopez was smokin' in her peformance tho'.

Sanjaya sounded pitiful tonight. And he tried to look gangsta Lakisha chose the wrong song again... The dude that followed Lakisha didn't have any emotion when he sung that song. These three deserve to be in the bottom three. Melinda did great....and for once she didn't dress like an old maid. Now I can see how great she looks.

Yes the dreaded country night. I was apprehensive about it I wasn't sure what to expect but I did notice it may not be as easy anyone may think. Martina McBride was guest and of course will sing on tonight's show. I think she encouraged the ones she didn't think was so hot and she validated their strong points.
Phil Stacey — Where the Blacktop Ends I liked his performance and I agreed with the judges it may be his niche, judges agreed.
Jordin Sparks — Broken Wing She sung it impeccably... Simon gave her the nod saying she could actually win.
LaKisha Jones — Jesus, Take the Wheel At first I thought the song choice was different for her AND I thought she had sung it well, but the judges said uh uh, for song choice and that she was screaming and felt that she didn't sing it with her flavor and upon review they were right. Her decisions are gonna be the death of her.
Chris Richardson — Mayberry I thought he did okay sounding like Justin Timberlake trying to sing country. I did agree on the issue of sounding believable they didn't feel it.
Sanjaya Malakar — Something To Talk About Dreadful. Karoke(sp?) at it's worst.
Melinda Doolittle — Trouble is a Woman Did she do it! or did she do it! Judges agreed and Simon told her to drop the "I'm surprised" act. Yeah girl, just fess up and say it! She was looking good wasn't she? By the way did I tell you that was my girl? Can you say P-R-O-F-E-S-S-I-O-N-A-L! By the way, I put my 205 votes in for her.
Blake Lewis — When the Stars Go Blue He definitely put his flavor to it. It didn't sound like country he definitely is quirky he sang good and he was dressed nice.
Bottom 2? Sanjaya, Chris
I Don't think Phil deserves to be there but may, Blake? a little quirky, Lakisha? The decisions she makes.
